Think Pink Crop

An exciting weekend is ahead. Memorable Seasons is hosting a Think Pink Crop along with Scrapbooking stores accross the nation to celebrate Breast Cancer awareness, so come join us for some fun. I'll be hosting one of the challenges. This is my LO for the challenge but you'll have to stop by to find out what the challenge actually is.

What a fun month of scrapping August was. I got so much done during My Sketch Worlds ABC crop. I think I was able to do 16 of the challenges. I had ideas for more, but alas not the time. My kids may be the inspiration for my work but they are also the ones that take the time away from it. Good thing I love them so much :) These were just a few of the LO's I got done.

Any color will do!

At first glance this LO would look like it belonged to a Halloween page with the bright orange and green colors, but it is Easter. Don't let holiday colors limit you. My boys certainly don't wear many pastels that would normally go along with Easter. In these photos they were hunting eggs through the woods in their play clothes and these papers seems to fit so well for the colors and motions of the photos!

Smile

Quotes can make the page sometimes. I've had this picture of Austin in the bottom of my photo box for quite awhile. He was about 1 1/2 years old. And it was just one of those photos that didn't go with any others and I didn't know what to do with it so it kept getting pushed farther back. Then I was challenged to create a LO by My Sketch World using one of their daily quotes. And this seemed perfect for it.

Pure Joy

I have been having so much fun with all the bright fun papers that have come out. When I first saw this Basic Grey Lime Rickey I thought it was quite wild and wasn't sure I'd know what to do with it, but that hasn't been a problem. With active playful kids I find I need more.
This was one of our many days at the park. Autumn absolutely loves the swings just as her brothers do. She wants to go high and fast!

Once upon a time

This weeks Dreamgirls challenge was to use a sketch, die cut paper, and an old photo. I wasn't sure I had any photos older than 5 years old until I came across this one in the bottom of my photo box of my husband and his sister (who my daughter looks very much like). I chose to do hidden journaling as this picture of he and his sister saddens me.

Daddy

I hope everyone let the wonderful Daddy's in their life know how truly special they are. I couldn't have asked for a better man to be the father of my little ones, and hope they will always share the special bonds that they have right now.

Last Scrapper Standing

I now understand the stress that participants of American Idol and other shows like that go through. Memorable Seasons has been having a fun yet stressful contest where others vote on your LO's to see if you will survive. Only a few more weeks to find out who the ultimate winner will be. I really have enjoyed the challenges and love how my LO's have turned out.

Be Mine

Austin was so excited to get to make his own Valentines this year for the kids in his class. Every year he has watched Jacob and felt a bit left out. Though I did have to reassure him that he wouldn't be giving all the car pencils to his friends and that there would be some candy left over for him too. I found a great sketch for this LO at The Scrappiest

A walk on the wild side

I have to say I was dreading doing another zoo LO. We go to the zoo quite often and the kids are so cute I just have to snap pictures, but I was running out of ideas. I saw the cutest sketch over at The Scrappiest and knew it would be perfect with these animal pattern papers from Dream Street. This photo worked out perfect for the new challenge at Scrap It Forward to show happy children. How could they not be happier getting to spend the day at the zoo with their cousins, aunt and grandma! Scrap it Forward is supporting The Ronald McDonald house, so check it out and get those can tops saved up!

All about MOM!!

Being a mom makes me appreciate my mom that much more. She is always there for me as a mom and a friend. I'm so lucky that we have become friends as adults. I love seeing her with my children. They absolutely adore her and seem to bring her so much joy as well.

Autumn has always wanted to do everything on her own even when they are things she really can't do, such as changing her own diaper!
It's so hard to believe this was only a little over a year ago. It is so sad how fast babies grow and change.

This past Halloween we went to the St. Lukes family day att the pumpkin patch. After doing all the games they had I let them decorate cookies (saved this for last) They did eat some of their cookie when they were done, but with the amount of icing and candy they put on them I think it was even to sweet for them to eat!

Austin's birthday fell on Thanksgiving day this past year so we decided to have just a small family party before we had our big Turkey dinner. I still wanted to make his birthday very special. Since they were out of school all week, we made it a week of birthday fun. We went to the library, bowling, park and out to lunch every day.
Talk about inpiration. I had been putting all these photos to the back of my pile, not knowing quite how to do them. Then I visited The Scrappiest and found all of these fabulous sketches to work with and was able to get so much done!

Spring is in the Air

And what does Spring bring around here, baseball of course. We have a crazy schedule of practices and games, but Jacob loves it. Three games just this week and a weekend tournament that starts on Friday. He is in his second year of machine pitch. This picture is of him from last year since I had to pull it out of the frame to put up the new one. His team last year was the Rangers. This year he is a Longhorn.

Christmas isn't over around here!

I'm slowly but surely working my way through the Christmas photos. Every year I buy each one of the kids a special oranament that they get to open on Christmas Eve and put on the tree. I try to find something that represents the past year. So for Autumn it was Tinkerbell. Her favortie pj's are Tinkerbell and she carries her Tinkerbell phone all over the place. She was Tinkerbell for Halloween, etc!!! I found this adorable ornament that has Tinkerbell sitting on top of a bell. Of course within minutes of opening it she had broken the wings off :( I was able to glue them back on and then it went high up on the tree with the rest of the ornaments I didn't want her to destroy. I used a fabulous sketch from 52 sketches for this LO.

Finally scrapped it!!

I have had such a hard time with trying to figure out how to scrap Autumn's pictures from the day she was baptized. The new Dreamgirls challenge was the perfect inspiration. We had to use a line from the song Time After Time. The line "If you're lost you can look and you will find me" immediately popped out to me and seemed to be the perfect sentiment for this special day.

Gadgets

It is a rare thing to have my 3 little ones sitting next to each other for even a minute. Of course electrical gadgets always help, at least for a little bit. Austin was so excited when he got his leapster. He now feels he is quite the big boy sine he can do some of the same things his big brother can do. I used a great sketch from 52 sketches for this LO.

My baby girl did wonderfully with her surgery. We go back to the dr next week to see how the tubes are and if all the infection is gone. Most of her symptoms have diappeared so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for all the prayers.

Say a Prayer

My sweet baby girl is going in on Thursday for sugery to have tubes put in her ears. I know it is just a minor procedure and we have been through this with Jacob before but it is still scary. The thought of them taking her away and sedating her makes me think of all the horrible little things that can go wrong. So please say a prayer that all goes well and the tubes help bring back her pleasnat personality that seems to have gotten lost in the last week during yet another ear infection.

Finally Scrapping again

After being sick last week and then the yucky weather it seems like it's been forever since I scrapped. I had no desire to do anything and no inspiration. But I'm happy to say that it is over and it felt so good to get a LO done today. And what better way than to be challenged. This LO got me really motivated and met the requirements for 3 different challenges from Memorable Seasons, Dreamgirls, and Ad this.

My Cutie Pie

I'm thoroughly addicted to little girl clothes. I used to think boy clothes were adorable until I had Autumn. The boys clothes just don't even compare. Of course everytime she gets a new outfit I have to try to take a picture of her in it. I absolutely love this outfit she got for Christmas. It wasn't even very cold on Christmas but I still wanted her to wear the adorable striped tights and sweater. She wasn't cooperating very well with taking photos that morning though, but I've learned to take what I can get.

Sketches are a great way to help get you started on a layout. I love using sketches for my inspiration. And you don't have to alwasy search for a new sketch. You can use the same sketch as your inspiration and have it turn out completely different. Sketches can be turned, used upside down, or used as a mirror image. Several small photos can be used in replace of a larger photo and the other features of the layout moved around. I used the February sketch from My Sketch World for both of the above LO's.

2009 Progress

I have to say I've gotten a lot of scrapping done so far this year. At a few crops I have turned out 10-14 LO's in one weekend. I think I've now done about 35 LO's just in the past two months. I'm really proud of them too. None of them have been LO's I felt I just had to do to get the pictures on a page, they were all ones I thoroughly enjoyed doing. This one is one of my favorites that I have done this year. I just love the new My Minds Eye Penny Lane papers and I love this closeup photo I got of Autumn.

Scrappy Weekend

This has been one busy weekend, for scrapping that is. My Sketch World had a wonderful crop full of layout, card, and project challenges. I got about 10 layouts done and quite a few cards. Plus a few projects too. This is one of those projects. A simple office clip to showcase your photos.

I went shopping!!

Who would have thought that I would say there was something that I loved about the city of Corsicana (well except my 4 adorable nephews, and I guess my sister and BIL too :) ). But they have a wonderful LSS, Scrapping Goodtime. It was so hard to choose from all the fabulous new papers they had in. I was ready to dig into them the minute I got home. So this was my first creation using the gorgeous new Imaginisce Twitterpated. Autumn was doing one of her most favorite things to do, trying to make it impossible for me to watch tv, by pressing every possible button on the remote.

I'm being published!!!

Today I received the email letting me know that the online magazine Scrapbook News and Review has chose one of my LO's for their upcoming issue. I'm so excited! This will be my first time to be published.

Miss Personality

Autumn actually somewhat had enough hair to wear a bow and left it in for more than 30 seconds, though not too much longer. She was being quite the ham while I was trying to get pictures of her with her bow. Check out Inspired Blueprints for their awesome new sketch. I based this LO off of it and used the goregeous new Fancy Pants Splendid line of paper for it.

Gettin Sketchy

This months new sketch is up at Gettin Sketchy. I've been trying to finish up our photos from last summer when we went to the water park and this multi photo sketch was great for that. This was the first time the boys had gone to a water park and they LOVED it. They have been begging and begging to go back again. Hopefully we will get to do it again next summer.

Superbowl weekend

I think there was some kind of football going on sometime on Sunday :) But for me it was all about the scrapping. Simply Obsessed hosted an awesome superbowl crop and in 2 days I completed 15 LO's. Didn't get much sleep, but the creative juices were flowing. Oh and I actually did watch most of the game. A little sad the Cardinals didn't win, would have been nice for a team that everyone said would lose to have won.

Neverland

Well I'm just now getting around to scrapping our Halloween photos. I really wanted Autumn to be Tinkerbell so I was quite happy that when I suggested Hook and Peter Pan to the boys they were really excited about it. Austin didn't even know who Peter Pan was, so we got the book out and read the story. The boys liked the idea of having swords! Now everytime Austin sees Peter Pan, he says that is me and points to Tinkerbell and says that is Autumn.
I used a great sketch from Inspired blueprints!

My first sketch

I've entered the world of sketch design. Here is my first attempt. My Lo is of my baby girl Autumn on Thanksgiving day with her grandma. She adores her grandma and runs to her everytime she is near. In fact if grandma is near, she would rather be with her than me.

Welcome

Welcome to my first post. I created this blog to be able to share my love of scrapbooking and to help inspire others to scrap along with me. Stay tuned for post of some of my LO's and some sketches to try out for yourself.
