My Scraps and More sketch

The newest sketch is up at My Scraps and More sketch blog.  Take a look.

Now I decided to do a little switching around with this one to make it work better with my picture.  First I flipped it on it's side.  I shrunk down all the elements and as I was working with the 3 sections I decided 4 would work much better for me.  This is the great thing about a sketch, you use it as a starting off point and then just let it flow.  It may end up looking like the sketch or it may not when it is done.  Mine leaned more towards the not but it started off from there.

My Scraps & More is excited to announce a design team call for the sketch blog! We are looking for creative and talented scrappers who like to work with sketches!

Design Team requirements

- create 2 layouts per month based on sketches provided
- promote My Scraps & More sketches on your blog as well as post the sketch
and your layout on Fridays of the reveal
- promote My Scraps & More in signatures and other places where allowed

This Design Team position will be from February 1, 2014 - May 31, 2014
- At the end of the term, team members will receive a "thank you" box of
scrapbook products
- Design Team members are welcome and encouraged to enter their layouts
for the monthly prize drawing

The deadline for this call is January 26, 2014. Those chosen will be contacted and once everyone has accepted their positions, the new team will be announced February 1, 2014.

New Playhouse

I created this page using 2 Broke Girls sketch #11.

This was the second page I created from my kit swap supplies I received and using 2 Broke Girls sketch #6.

I could live in a tree!!

It is kit swap time over at My Scraps and More.  Several members each create a page kit and send it along to someone else to create a page with.  It is fun to be challenges with something you may not normally use.  This is what I created with mine using a sketch from 2 Broke Girls.

I get to tell you all about our new Tuesday Trigger challenges.  Each month we will have a theme and then each Tuesday a challenge will be based off of that theme.  For the month of September our theme is "back to school".

Now just by participating in this blog hop you are getting a head start on this Tuesday's challenge.  This challenge is all about one of my favorite subjects, math!  You are going to use the equation 

4 + 6 = 10

Easter Best

This month Rochelle challenged us with this inspiring photo.

As soon I saw this is reminded me of the torn cardboard trend which I haven't seen in a while.  So I dug into one of my boxes under my desk and did some tearing to show the corrugated effect.

Beach Bum

I'm ready for the beach and grateful that we will be headed there next week.  So I thought I'd scrap some beach photos from last year.  I created this page for the SWAT color challenge and Scrappin Happy challenge to use 3 pp, twine and washi tape, some of my favorite items!!

I'm doing good using up my old stash.  This is another one using Bo Bunny Petal Pushers.  I used a sketch from Grand Diva's Creative Corner.

1st Fun Run

Over at My Scraps and More we have been having a bit of fun with some of our old stuff.  If you are like me you get the new in and it is so hard to go back and pull from your old stash.  I just want to play with the new.  Every month we pick a collection and use up the remainder of the collection during that month.  This month I'm using Bo Bunny's Petal Pushers.  I used this sketch from My Creative Endeavors.

One of the twist to her challenge was to use two different alphas.  I used Thickers and some Basic Grey letter stickers.  Here is what I created.

This month Rochelle issued a color challenge.  It was to use at least 3 of these colors on your page.  

Well I pretty much got all 5 of them on there using Jillibeans Irish Farm House Soup.  I love color.  Here is what I came up with.

Easter Fun

I wish I could say this was this Easter but no, I'm nowhere near that fast a scrapper.  These would be from last Easter.  After the kids finished with their egg hunt they decided they wanted pictures with Ally, well at least two of them did.  Austin was forced into it as always.  I used a sketch from Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.

Have you been over to My Scraps and More.  Our Spring into Summer blog hop is winding down and our crop is in full swing.  There are lots of spring and summer challenge up.  I created this page for Wendi's Water Fun challenge.  It was to use water photos and have the primary color of the page be blue.  I also used a sketch from Boys Rule.

Summer style

It is so wonderful to finally have a child who likes to pose and really tries to look cute fro the camera.  I love my boys but they could care less if the camera is out.  I created this for Kristi's challenge to use something that flies on a LO.  I also used a sketch from 2 Broke Girls.

Spring into Summer Blog Hop

Welcome to the My Scraps and More Spring into Summer blog hop and crop. Hopefully you have come here from Tammi's blog. If not start the beginning of the hop here  We are springing into things with a blog hop starting today and the official crop will kick off on Friday April 26 on the message board. For my LO I chose to use Fancy Pants new Down by the Shore line. Summer papers are always my favorite to work with. I love the bold colors and that it included so many non-themed papers so it can be used for a variety of photos, not just summer.  I just so happened to have ordered all my beach photos from last year so I couldn't wait to start scrapping them.  I used a sketch from Grand Diva's Creative Corner for my page.

Your Day

One of my challenges this month at My Scraps and More is a color challenge.  I chose this palette to create a LO from.

Echo Parks new All About a Boy line is just perfect with this color combo and I used a sketch from Scrap the Boys to create this page about Austin's 7th Birthday.

New Adventures

I pulled a sketch from Another Freaking Scrappy challenge that took me a bit out of my comfort zone but I was happy how it turned out.  I also used a word challenge from 2 Broke Girls to use the word new on a layout.

Travel Often

I've found a new site called 2 Broke Girls.  I feel that way quite frequently so I should fit in perfectly.  There first challenge was to use part of this quote on a page.

I combined this with a sketch from My Scraps and More bithday sketch-a-thon and came up with this page.

Boys Rule

The sketch from boys rule for this month was a bit of a challenge for me as  there were no layers.  If you have seen my pages you know I'm all about the layers.  I followed the basic part of the sketch and then added my layers in using stickles.

Sand sledding

I may never be done with my pages from our trip to Ruidosa almost 2 years ago.  Especially with all the photos I took at White Sands.  I used a sketch from Scrappin'n'Happy for this page.

Keep Calm and

and what?  Everyone seems to want to know the end of this lately.  Scrapbooking is no different.  The challenge at Grand Driva's Creative Corner this month is to answer this question, so here is what I came up with.  I also used a challenge for this page from Scrap Your Stash to use at least 50% Kraft and 3 metal embellishments.  The metal was hard for me especially on a boy page.  I went with a star pin, button, and a the blue metal pin at the bottom that I picked up in an antique shop about a year ago.  I had been trying to figure out what to do with it and this worked out perfectly.

The boys rule February  challenge was to add a bit of stitching to your LO.  The only thing I use my machine on is paper, it never touches cloth.

Do What you love

The challenge at Scrappin'n'Happy this month is to create a page using a phrase off of this word art tile.

I chose to use the title Do What You Love of my daughter at her dance class Halloween party.  Here is what I came up with.

Who Needs a Swimsuit

This month at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge they wanted us to scrap about our passion.  Well I have quite a few so I kind of combined two of them.  One being my children and another being spending time outdoors with them.  I decided to scrap these photos of my son when we went to the river last spring break.  I knew they would be wading in the water and told him to wear some shorts but did he listen, of course not.  He was completely soaked.

New years Resolution

How about this for a challenge site, another freaking scrappy challenge, LOL.  This months challenge was to scrap your new years resolution.  I make the same one every year and try very hard to work at it but life always gets so hectic.  My resolution is to just enjoy the moment.  Not worry about what has happened or is to come but just be in that moment.
